Hi visitor(s),
I'm back from a twelve days vacation in Scotland. Summary how it went by bus/boat/train: IJmuiden -> Newcastle -> Edinbrugh, Edinburgh <-> Stirling, Edinburgh -> Glasgow, Glasgow <-> Lilithgow, Glasgow -> Androssan, Androssan -> Isle of Arran, Isle Arran -> Androssan -> Glasgow -> Edinburg -> Newcastle -> IJmuiden -> Home.
All the places in Scotland, where we have been to, was beautiful and the people were very friendly. We weren't in Edinbrugh during the G8 event or the strike from transportation. We were lucky, because if we were at the G8 event we wouldn't be able to see anything - to many people - and the strike... Sometimes you just need transportation to go somewhere especially when your feet are screaming for rest.
I was exhausted this afternoon. I just arrived home than. I'm still feeling a bit of pain from the uncomfy beds. I missed my bed so much. I'll be sleeping in it tonight. *yeah!*
We have stayed in four kinds of places during our visit in Scotland. First it was the boat. The first and last day were an almost a days travel by boat. The first room was big, unfortunately the other one was smaller. In Edinbrugh, we stayed in a guesthouse. That looked like a hotel. It was the worst place of accomodation, that I've ever experienced. There was no airco and the window was crappy. Glasgow, a hotel. It was grand. I loved that hotel, at least compared to others where I've been to. The room was big, the breakfast offered a lot of choice. Isle of Arran, this guesthouse was the best accomodation out of the three of them. This was truelly a guesthouse compared to the first one, that I've mentioned. It didn't look like a hotel more like a home. We saw the hostess every morning for breakfast. She asked us how our stay was and if we needed anything. It was a very nice house.
Now it's later, dark late in the night... I'm yawning. I've read my e-mail (miss reading them), replied to some forum topics (missed the forums), unpacked (didn't miss doing that), showered (missed my shower!). Coming home after a long holiday makes home feel so great. So I guess I should say: "Home, sweet home."
Night night,
Vlien
