These few weeks I have been busy with work, so I didn't contemplate on this question: "Is he trying to tell me something between the lines? Is he trying to flirt? Isn't that inappropriate at the moment?"
Thinking back about several encounters, it makes me wonder whether there was a hidden meaning behind their actions? Perhaps you have an idea, what actually happened?

Scene 1
A cute, handsome looking gent, who I have seen several times before in the metro, while I travel to work turns out to be someone who isn't far away. He works at the same hospital, but at another department. We were in an elevator alone, just a few minutes, a few floors up... When he got off the elevator he turned around and gave me a broad smile and told me (roughly translated from Dutch): "Have fun at work."
Should I have talked to him? We have seen each other before exchanged smiles but we haven't said anything else to one another.
Scene 2
A few months later... I saw the gent again, but this time a quick broad smile and a "Hi!" in a full elevator. There was no chance to talk to him.
The reason why there were so many people in the elevator was due to delays of metro's. The bright-side of this day was, it was snowing, everything looked white.

Scene 1
Another empty elevator this time, going down with a guy who works on the same floor. He is older and not my type, he turned around several times before he suddenly decides to say: "Those are winter boots, right? They look warm."
My reply, while I got off the elevator and smiled:"Yes, they are."
Scene 2
I saw the guy a week later, I was talking to a colleague while walking through a hallway towards an elevator. He passed by heading towards his department on our floor and stared at me with a broad smile. Was he staring at me or at my female colleague, who is a middle aged woman with a figure of a woman who had children?

Scene 1
A recruiter was acting strangely during an alumni event from my previous recruiter agency. Awhile back I mentioned the leaning, this is a step further? During a business networking event he started to mimic my body language. A move you usually make to feel more secure, more in place in a group or when you are trying to connect with a person. What was he thinking? Even my friend saw that he was acting weirdly. We were hinting at one another during our conversation which he obviously didn't follow. Still what was he thinking?
So I am contemplating now! Hence the following question: "Hints or ask someone out directly?"
Men, if you are interested in me be a gent and just tell me clearly! I am too dense to notice that you are flirting with me. I'll just think you are being nice. If you are not a gent, I might not even think you are being serious.
Surely there can be no mistake in being frank right? Then again, we are women and men misunderstanding each other is something we do too often.
