A man walked up to me and said: “Want some orange juice?”
He’s my handsome, five office away colleague.
I smiled: “Yes, I would love some.”
Before he left he stared at me, than at the sack of 0% fat chips. He reached out his hand and took one chips. He ate it, while leaving.
Hmm... What to write? Last issue was about cross trainers and this issue will be about “avoiding snacks as much as possible”. I don’t want to avoid chocolate or chips, when I’m stressed! I need the energy!
I looked up and saw that my handsome colleague was walking towards me with a tray. Why a tray? It is just a glass of orange juice, right? A glass with orange juice, a fork and a metal bowl with a cover over it? He had a broad smile on his face, while he entered my office. He put the tray down on my desk and pushed the sack of 0% fat chips aside.
“Hey, I’m not finished with that yet.”
He stared into the sack and saw two pieces. Before he threw the sack in the bin, he ate them up which made me stare at him with one eyebrow up.
He smiled: “Here is your orange juice. I pressed them this morning and something healthy to snack on.”
He left without saying anything else and left me in a state of awe. What does he mean by that? I took the cover off the metal bowl and it was filled with fruit pieces: strawberry, watermelon, apple, grapes and pomegranate. I stood up and walked towards my office’s door opening. I held the door post and looked to my right. He was still walking towards his office. Suddenly I had an idea for my article and I said: “Of course!”
This made him turn around and stand still in the hall. I shouted with a broad smile: “Thank you, Daniel!”
It startled him and his face turned red. The other colleagues in the hall stared at us, than they laughed after seeing Daniel’s face. I sat down behind my desk and started writing: “Great snacks come in small portions of fruit...”
