I thought the phone calls of "unknown caller" would stop, but noooo... There is still one left! It turns out, that the ones I listed in my last post were actually people from callcenters. One tried to persuade me to change my electricity provider, another one wanted me to join a union. In the Netherlands, you can join a union if you have a job no matter if it is a full-time or a part-time job, even have a student one which they offered me. Except I don't have a steady income, so I don't want to join a union yet.
Strangely enough the callcenter people, who called me were voices from guys with a nice voice. This was one of reasons, why I let them talk after they asked if I had time. In reality I wasn't interested in what they were selling and I needed a break from writing my paper. It was a relax five minutes talk of entertainment from my side *giggle*. That is why, I asked them in an interested way why they called me, instead of saying: "No I don't have time". The latter tends to let them suggest to call you back... Neeh don't want that... The horror of being called by sales people is to hear them again *lol*. Anyway, I listened and answered where needed, after a few minutes of listening about what they were offering I told them that I already had a better deal or that I was just not interested.
There was one caller, who I told after one minute that another person already called me about the same subject. His reply baffled me! The poor guy apologized to me. He didn't have to, I needed the five minutes break anyway. Only I was so baffled, that I didn't know how to reassure him. I tried, after a few sorry's by saying: "It is ok". Somehow it didn't reach him, because he replied with: "I'm sorry" again. He sounded like a boy, who I just bullied by stealing his lunch money or it was a scene where he said: "I didn't mean to bump against you! I'm sorry! I'm really really sorry!" Maybe it was his first try at the callcenter job. I hope he does it better with his other calls. By the way I'm not a bully and never have been, but the scene just looked like the ones I've seen on telly. Where the children being bullied yelling: "No, not the swirly!" etc.
Ah! The one "unknown caller" of today... Is this the last "unknown caller", who will stay unknown? If you want someone to pick up you shouldn't just hang up after a few seconds right? Hmm... I was frustrated, because the break was annoyingly short so I said: "Why you! If you want me to pick up, don't hang up after a few seconds!" Than I heard another ringtone tune and I laughed and yelled: "Why did you call me, <my younger brother's name>?"
These few weeks are weird, somehow it feels like as if God is telling me to take a break with these unknown calls. There are days I feel like I will end up brain dead, because I have no idea what I'm going to do sometimes. Will I end up with a burnout if I continue like this? I guess time will tell... Tjeez... I feel like a stick in the mud, but I am actually an active beaver building a colourful dam.
