Some movies touch you for no reason at all and others make you cry even though you don't know why. The movie I watched yesterday was predictable, but still it made me cry... I guess I was too emotional that day? If you know me, you'll know that I hardly cry because I hate to cry. The first reason for hating to cry is personal, but the other is if I cry too much I'll just give myself a headache *sweatdrop* Luckily no headache from crying yesterday, still why did I cry during this movie?
The movie is called "If Only" and the title made me curious - If you want to watch this movie from 2004, don't read the following two sections - Why is the movie called "If Only"? I missed the first half hour of the movie, but I think I didn't miss much... The movie was about one day of a man's life. He is hopelessly in love with his girlfriend and she is in love with him. She's a violinist, who will graduate from music school that evening and he's a businessman. She is going back to America, because she's an American and wants him to go with her. He thinks, that he can't go because he has a job in London. He tells her that and the day becomes very moody.
The first time that he goes through this day, he didn't show her how he felt and it ended up with a fight/quarrel. She steps into the taxi and by the crossroad the taxi stops for awhile, because the traffic light was red. He decides to chase the taxi and does that, but on the way there the traffic light jumped to green and the taxi was hit by another car. He cries out of guilt and sadness in the poring rain. Later, she dies in the hospital if only he told her how he truly felt about her. He goes to bed alone that night and wakes up with her next to him. He shouts out of shock and it turned out, that it was all a nightmare. - First I thought ground hog day! *smile*, but it wasn't so luckily - The day hasn't really started yet, he could relive the whole day again! Certain events, that happened in his dream was happening again so he decides to go against the odds but it happened anyway in a slightly different way. He started to realise that it wasn't a nightmare. The day before really happened, so he tells her that he loves her and gives her a day that she would never forget. Than at that night in the poring rain, the scene repeated only now they didn't have a quarrel and he also stepped into the taxi. At the crossroad, he knew what was going to happen and he protected her just after the traffic light jumped to green. He died in the hospital instead of her. It was inevitable, someone had to die and he choose himself. The first time the accident occurred in the movie I cried and the second time as well. Was it the meaning of Carpe Diem... Seize the day... To tell the one you love, that you really love them! Or was it the fairytale, the knight in shining armor on a white horse to save her? I really have no idea, why I cried maybe it was the rain in that scene *teehee*. Anyway if you want to watch this movie, maybe you'll cry too so prepare yourself with a tissue box next to you!
Before I forget to mention, my week was weird! Everything happened in a whim and studying has to be rescheduled. No stress at all, just fun and a splitting headache from time to time. It is the changing weather, that took half of my days this week but other than that I'm happy I found a pressy for my younger brother's birthday on Wednesday and I had a family diner on Tuesday even though I felt miserable I had a nice birthday *laugh*. I guess I'm too used to this headache, but I'm fine really! Just a crazy week, that is all *teehee*.
